Our mid-friction rubber compound (MC1) allows for smooth pedal entry and exit and is durable enough to withstand wear and tear. The radial lug pattern around the cleat box ensures a smooth release from the pedal body.
Match Outsole:
The tread pattern is designed for off-bike traction. Directionally angled and spaced toe and heel lugs provide traction on steep terrain, and the ramped toe makes walking on steep slopes easier.
Breathability, Protection, and Comfort:
The upper features a closure system, hidden eyelets, a perforated toe, mesh windows, a perforated tongue, a reinforced toe, a padded tongue, and heel dots for added comfort and protection.
Using Your Crankbrothers Mallet E Shoes:
1. Size Selection: First, check the size guide. If you have normal feet, choose your regular size. But if your feet are wider, go up half a size. The size selector is for US Men, so measure your feet correctly as described.
2. Fitting: Use the BOA® Fit System's micro - adjustment dial. Turn it to tighten the strong, lightweight lace through the low - friction lace guides for a perfect fit. Loosen it when you want to take the shoes off.
3. Pedal Setup: The shoes come with a pre - installed Match shim and Crankbrothers cleat in a neutral position. If you're using Crankbrothers pedals, you can start riding right away. For other MTB clip - in systems like SPD, the Match System is optimized to work well.
4. Riding: When riding, the carbon - injected nylon shank will transfer your power efficiently, whether you're climbing or sprinting. The mid - friction rubber compound (MC1) in the Match Compound makes it easy to enter and exit the pedals.
5. Off - Bike: The tread pattern on the Match Outsole provides great traction when you're walking on or off the bike, especially on steep terrain.
Maintenance:
1. Cleaning: After a ride, use a damp cloth to wipe off dirt and mud. Don't use harsh chemicals as they might damage the materials.
