The Topeak TetraRack R2 is an amazing quick-mount rear rack system. It can be easily attached to road, cross, hybrid, or touring bike seatstays. This one-size-fits-all rack has an innovative top plate that can adjust to be level regardless of the seatstay angle. The integrated QuickTrack® system enables Topeak TrunkBags to slide, lock in place, and release with just a push of a button. Its hook and loop strap mounting system cinches tightly to keep your load stable and allows mounting on a wide variety of bikes. Note that the TetraRack is not suitable for carbon forks and seat stays, and it's not compatible with front or rear mounted V-Brake type systems. It has strut slot adjustments for a level top plate, adjustable straps with padded feet for secure attachment, and is compatible with Topeak QuickTrack® system bags. There's also a clamp for a rear reflector. The mounting length is 200mm. Seatstays must be over 15mm in diameter, and it's not recommended to mount it on carbon frames. It's compatible with seatstays width from 75 - 105mm, with a max load of 9 kg / 20 lb. The materials include aluminum, engineering grade polymer, and nylon straps. It comes with added features like a rear reflector clamp and tail light mount, and has a size of 39.5 x 30 x 12 cm / 15.6” x 11.8” x 4.7” and weighs 870 g / 1.92 lb.
Using the Topeak TetraRack R2 is easy. First, make sure your bike's seatstays meet the requirements - the diameter should be larger than 15mm, and there should be no obstacles. Also, don't use it on carbon frames. Then, use the hook and loop straps to attach the rack to the seatstays and adjust the strut slots so the top plate is level. You can then slide your Topeak TrunkBag onto the rack using the QuickTrack® system and lock it in place. When loading your items, make sure not to exceed the maximum load capacity of 9 kg / 20 lb. For maintenance, clean the rack regularly with a mild soap and water. Check the straps and clamps for any signs of wear and tear. If you notice any issues, replace the parts as needed. Also, store the rack in a dry place when not in use.
